This return policy applies only to orders placed through the S.A. Self Defense Canada storefront and shipped to a Canadian address.
Return window
Eligible unused products may be returned within 30 days of confirmed delivery.
Before mailing anything back, customers must contact S.A. Self Defense and receive return authorization. Unauthorized returns may be refused or returned to the sender.
Return eligibility
To qualify for a return, the product must be:
- Unused, unworn and uninstalled
- In new, resalable condition
- Returned with its original packaging, instructions and components
- Free from scratches, damage, modifications, adhesive residue and signs of use
- Accompanied by the order number and approved return authorization
Trying a holster’s fit without carrying or damaging it does not automatically disqualify the return. However, holsters showing wear, scratches, belt marks, altered hardware or signs of extended use may be refused.
Custom and made-to-order products
Custom-built and personalized products are generally final sale, including products made with customer-selected:
- Hand orientation
- Launcher or accessory configuration
- Kydex colour or custom design
- Inner-liner colour
- Washer or hardware colour
- Clip or mounting configuration
- Uploaded image or personalized artwork
- Other made-to-order options
If S.A. Self Defense manufactured the wrong configuration or the product arrives with a confirmed manufacturing defect, contact us within seven days of delivery. We will review the issue and determine whether repair, replacement or another resolution is appropriate.
Choosing the wrong model, hand orientation, light, laser or accessory configuration is not considered a manufacturing defect.
Ammunition and projectiles
For safety and compliance reasons, all ammunition and projectile sales are final.
This includes:
- Kinetic projectiles
- Training projectiles
- Practice ammunition
- Reusable rounds
- Opened or unopened projectile packages
Do not return ammunition or projectiles without written instructions from S.A. Self Defense.

The following products are final sale unless defective or incorrectly supplied by S.A. Self Defense:

- Ammunition and projectiles
- Opened consumable products
- Installed, modified or damaged accessories
- Products missing original components
- Clearance and final-sale products

Lights, lasers, sights and electronic accessories
Eligible electronic accessories must be returned unused, uninstalled and in their original packaging.
Products showing mounting marks, scratches, damaged screws, altered wiring or other signs of installation may not qualify for return.
If an electronic product arrives defective, contact S.A. Self Defense before attempting a return. Troubleshooting may be required before return authorization is issued.
Return shipping
Canadian customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless:
- S.A. Self Defense shipped the wrong product; or
- The product has a confirmed manufacturing defect covered by our warranty.
Customers must use a trackable shipping service. S.A. Self Defense is not responsible for returns lost or damaged during return transit.
Do not label a return as a gift or provide inaccurate customs information.
Original shipping, duties and taxes
The following charges are not refundable:
- Original shipping charges
- Expedited-shipping charges
- Customs duties
- Brokerage fees
- Import taxes
- Currency-conversion charges
- Foreign-transaction fees
- Return-postage expenses
S.A. Self Defense cannot refund charges collected by a carrier, bank, card issuer, customs authority or Canadian government agency.
Refused and undeliverable shipments
Orders refused at delivery or returned because of an incomplete address, failed delivery, unpaid import charges or customer refusal may be refunded only after the merchandise is received and inspected.
Actual outbound shipping, return shipping, duties, brokerage fees and other costs charged to S.A. Self Defense may be deducted from the refund.
Canadian product compatibility
Customers are responsible for verifying the exact:
- Brand
- Model
- Generation
- Barrel configuration
- Hand orientation
- Light, laser or optic
- Magazine size
- Calibre
- Mounting configuration
Contact S.A. Self Defense before ordering if your specific configuration is not listed.
Ordering an incompatible product does not make it defective.
Damaged or incorrect orders
Inspect the package promptly after delivery.
Report shipping damage, missing items or an incorrect product within seven days of delivery. Include:
- Order number
- Description of the problem
- Photographs of the product
- Photographs of the packaging
- Photograph of the shipping label
Keep all packaging until the claim has been resolved.
Refund processing
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method after the returned product is received and inspected.
Allow approximately 5–10 business days after approval for processing. The customer’s financial institution may require additional time to display the credit.
All orders are processed in U.S. dollars. Exchange-rate changes may cause the Canadian-dollar refund amount to differ from the amount originally shown on the customer’s statement.
Exchanges
International exchanges are handled as a return and a new order unless S.A. Self Defense approves a different arrangement.
Customers are responsible for shipping and other applicable charges on replacement orders when the exchange is caused by an incorrect customer selection.
Canadian consumer rights
This policy does not remove any non-waivable rights or remedies provided under applicable Canadian provincial or federal consumer-protection laws.
